CrossFit training methodology is simple yet highly effective; “Constantly varied, functional movements performed at high intensity.” CrossFit training was created by Greg Glassman in 2000 and has since then become an international phenomenon.  Because CrossFit programming is based on functional movements, it has a direct transference into real life situations. Learning correct and safe movement patterns is integral to long term health and gives us opportunities to remain strong for life. CrossFit training is composed of the 10 domains of fitness; strength, speed, stamina, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, accuracy, balance, power and coordination. During any given workout there may be any combination of these training domains and over time create ‘fitness.’ Fitness is not only about being able to run far or about lifting heavy weights, but to have a good spread of ability across all fitness domains.

At Driving Fitness our classes are caped at 6 people, therefore you will receive regular coaching and feedback. If you are looking to get fit and healthy in a fun and supportive environment then these classes are for you! Each of our classes are highly supervised to ensure you receive the best possible experience each and every time.

What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a strength & conditioning program which is based on the following: “Constantly varied, functional movements performed at high intensity.” The movements included in CrossFit are those which are used in every day life and include things such as deadlifts, squats, overhead pressing, jumping and running. Each class is always different do you are always working on different aspects of your fitness.

Why is CrossFit Essendon different?

CrossFit Essendon is one of the only CrossFit gyms to be programmed and supervised by a Physiotherapist. We strictly enforce proper technique to ensure the safety of all athletes in the gym. At CrossFit Essendon we cap each class at 6 people so you get plenty of one on one time with our coaches.

Can beginners to CrossFit?

Absolutely! All beginners are placed through our on boarding system where you will be taught proper technique in all movements to ensure you settle in nicely. Each of our coaches are highly trained and experienced in training beginners into CrossFit. You will even be given your own personal coach to ensure you are sticking to your health and fitness goals.   

What do I get when I sign up?

Upon joining our classes you will receive the following: 1. A complimentary Physiotherapy movement & flexibility assessment to ensure you receive your own personalised flexibility program. 2. You will be assigned to one of our CrossFit coaches who will guide you towards your health and fitness goals. 3. Full access to a group of people just like yourself who want to have fun while getting fit!
